Recording Life Seasons

In my writing and art I endeavor to capture the seasons of life.

The season of our lives changes as we move through life and experience all it means to be human. Whether I am writing a story, a novel or a simple poem, I endeavour to capture the essence of who we are, where we come from, and to whom we belong. In my art work it is the cycle of life and the changes in the yearly seasons I seek to capture.

There Is a Season

To everything there is a season,

A time for every purpose under heaven,

A time to be born,

And a time to die,

A time to plant,

Amd a time to pluck what is planted,

A time to kill,

And a time to heal,

A time to break down,

And a time to build up,

A time to weep,

And a time to laugh,

A time to mourn,

And a time to dance,

A time to cast stones,

And a time to gather stones,

A time to embrace,

And a time to refrain from embracing,

A time to gain,

And a time to lose,

A time to keep,

And a time to throw away,

A time to tear,

And a time to sew,

A time to keep slience,

And a time to speak,

A time to love,

And a time to hate,

A time of war,

And a time of peace.

Shopping online

In A Online Shop

Ha! Ha!
I’ve been in you’re shop
And you did know who I was
So OK I gave you my name
And perhaps where I lived
But to what I look like
And how I spoke
You do not know
You could judge I
Who sat in my wheelchair
And struggle to speak
Nor could see the trouble I have
Just to click my mouse
On the item I wanted
Nor the shaking of my hands
Just to hit the right key
No matter what I asked
Or purchase from you
You bundled it up
And it came to my door
Happily you email me
Your quotes and ideas
Without questioning `Will I understand?’
You can’t make assumptions
So often made by the way look
I have just shopped with my intellect
Not my mouth, feet or hands
Thank you for your service
I shall come again!

Some thoughts

Online

Online I can chose be no one
Invisible to the human eye,
Online I may choose to make my mark
By the way I create and build my profile.

Online I present like anyone else,
No one can see how different I am,
Online my disabilities are hidden
Unless I don’t want them to be,

Online I can be me
Nothing is gained by pretences,
Online no physical barriers exist
Between me and others in the online world,

Online it doesn’t matter if you’re
Fat or thin; tall or short, white or black,
Online I am like everybody else
Putting my thoughts, feeling and opinions out there,

Online my words count
As much as the next person,
No one challenges the validity of my words
Due to misconceptions of who I may be,

 Online my general appearance reflects
That of anybody else. . . Online
Online my thoughts, feelings and opinions,
Go unquestioned.

Offline. . . The reality is
I know we all judge others,
Online . . . Just as we judge others
When we’re Offline.

Online the difference is
They too are invisible to me,
Online unless people tell me direct
I can’t see how they react!
