Recording Life Seasons

In my writing and art I endeavor to capture the seasons of life.

The season of our lives changes as we move through life and experience all it means to be human. Whether I am writing a story, a novel or a simple poem, I endeavour to capture the essence of who we are, where we come from, and to whom we belong. In my art work it is the cycle of life and the changes in the yearly seasons I seek to capture.

There Is a Season

To everything there is a season,

A time for every purpose under heaven,

A time to be born,

And a time to die,

A time to plant,

Amd a time to pluck what is planted,

A time to kill,

And a time to heal,

A time to break down,

And a time to build up,

A time to weep,

And a time to laugh,

A time to mourn,

And a time to dance,

A time to cast stones,

And a time to gather stones,

A time to embrace,

And a time to refrain from embracing,

A time to gain,

And a time to lose,

A time to keep,

And a time to throw away,

A time to tear,

And a time to sew,

A time to keep slience,

And a time to speak,

A time to love,

And a time to hate,

A time of war,

And a time of peace.

Girls Night In 2010
"Think Pink"

During October I am raising money for the Australian Cancer Council “Think Pink” campaign, through holding a ‘Girl’s Night In’. The concept of the night is to gather your girlfriends and spend a night together at your place and donate the money you would have spent while out on the town. More information is available on their website: @ http://girlsnightin.com.au/

In the past I had product information nights; a pamper night and a cent auction. This year I am again holding a cent auction at my place on the 30th October, but I am using my BlogSpot to raise money and awareness of women’s cancer.

I am asking my girlfriends to donate something pink to auction on my blog until the 30th October, when the prize winners will be announced. Photos, prize winners and the amount of money I raise will be published on my blog.

What kind of things can you donate?

Breast Cancer Merchandise

Think pink

From pink pencils

Pink gift cards

Pink stationary

Pink lollies

Pink toys

Pink clothes

Pink hair assessories

Pink hats

Please choose things that are low in cost to post!

How does a cent auction work?

Items are placed in a row with a bucket in front, attendees purchase tickets which they place in the bucket of an item they would like to ‘win’.  On the night a ticket is drawn for each item and the name on that ticket ‘wins’ the prize.

How much tickets will cost?

Tickets are 50 cents each and there is no limit to the number of tickets you can purchase.

How do I know what the prizes are?

Photos of each item will be uploaded on to my blog site from 16th October.

If I can’t come how do I bid?

Select the item or items you want to play for. Decide how many bids you want to make for each item. The more bids you make the better your chances are of winning.  I will update the number of bids as they come in.  Email me the name of the item(s) you are bidding for and the number of tickets you require. You can update your bids until the morning of the auction. However bids will become null if I do not receive your payment verification by 9am on 30th October. Payment option details will be emailed to you once I receive your bid.

How will I know if I win a prize?

I will email you and make delivery arrangements with you. Winners will also be posted on my blog.

Official Cancer Council Receipts will be sent to you or you can donate directly on their website at: http://girlsnightin.com.au/

I will be setting up my girl’s night in account on their website.
