Recording Life Seasons

In my writing and art I endeavor to capture the seasons of life.

The season of our lives changes as we move through life and experience all it means to be human. Whether I am writing a story, a novel or a simple poem, I endeavour to capture the essence of who we are, where we come from, and to whom we belong. In my art work it is the cycle of life and the changes in the yearly seasons I seek to capture.

There Is a Season

To everything there is a season,

A time for every purpose under heaven,

A time to be born,

And a time to die,

A time to plant,

Amd a time to pluck what is planted,

A time to kill,

And a time to heal,

A time to break down,

And a time to build up,

A time to weep,

And a time to laugh,

A time to mourn,

And a time to dance,

A time to cast stones,

And a time to gather stones,

A time to embrace,

And a time to refrain from embracing,

A time to gain,

And a time to lose,

A time to keep,

And a time to throw away,

A time to tear,

And a time to sew,

A time to keep slience,

And a time to speak,

A time to love,

And a time to hate,

A time of war,

And a time of peace.

The Eyes are the Window to the Soul

Through the window

You’re looking through my window,

Would like to see,

What it is to live,

As someone who is different.

Come in!

Make yourself at home,

Yeah! It’s different,

Perhaps peculiar at times.

But have a cuppa,

It won’t take much time,

You looked through my window.

That makes you curios about who I am.

Let me share of my passions

And you do the same,

Sure we look different,

I bet we’re a like too!

Thank you! A listen ear,

In this moment in time,

If you come again,

Enter through the door not the Window.

A matter of faith

Salvation Through Christ:
A Matter of FAITH

If you have found my unfolding story of the death and resurrection of Christ has lead you to wanting to know how to become a Christian  here are the facts.
What do you think it takes for someone to get to heaven? Is it luck? Good deeds? Nothing at all? Or is there something more? The Bible has the real answer to this question. It's a matter of FAITH.

F stands for FORGIVENESS. We cannot have eternal life without God's forgiveness. Ephesians 1:7a says, "In Him (Jesus Christ) we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins."

A is for AVAILABLE. Forgiveness is available for all. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." But forgiveness is not automatic. "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven," says Matthew 7:21a.

I is for IMPOSSIBLE. It is impossible for God to allow sin into heaven because of who He is and because of who we are. God is loving and just, but His judgment is against sin. James 2:13a says, "Because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful." We are sinful people. Romans 3:23 tells us, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

T is for TURN. To turn means to repent. We can repent -- or turn -- from our sin and from ourselves. "But unless you repent, you too will all perish," Luke 13:3b says. We can also turn to Someone. Trust Christ alone. Romans 10:9 tells us how: "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

H is for HEAVEN. Heaven is eternal life. Here, that means life "to the full:" "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full (John 10:10b)." In the hereafter, it means the promise of heaven: "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am (John 14:3)."

So how can a person have God's forgiveness, heaven and eternal life, and Jesus as personal Saviour and Lord? By trusting in Christ and asking Him for forgiveness. Take the step of faith described by another meaning of FAITH: Forsaking All I Trust Him.

You do this through a simple prayer reflecting your desire for Christ to change your life. You don't need fancy words--only an honest heart. You can pray something like this:

Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and have displeased You in many ways. I believe You died for my sin, and only through faith in Your death and resurrection can I be forgiven. I want to turn from my sin and ask You to come into my life as my Savior and Lord. From this day on, I will follow You by living a life that pleases You. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for saving me. Amen.

Something 4 Kids

The Easter story for Kids
(Even Big Kids)

No! Easter is not all about
Chocolate easter eggs!

It's all about Jesus!

Here's a great place to read
the story of what happened to
Jesus during his last
days on earth.

From Friday to Sunday . . .

The struggle with death . . .

Between the Friday and the Sunday Jesus wrestled with death and Satan himself in the depth of Hell. So Jesus death was not the end but the beginning. If the story of Jesus ended at the time of his death, we too would be condemned to eternal death. However, by rising from the dead Jesus finally gained victory over Satan. Satan could notlonger control our destiny.

By rising on the third day Jesus completed his mission to defeat death, so we may not die (enter hell) but have eternal life. He took the place for everyone who was born. He descends into hell so you could live. He did this as an act of will, because he loved you and so you didn’t have to experience hell for yourselves.

During the trial, on the cross, his death and his time in hell Jesus took our place, he paid the penalty for our sin. He became our sacrifice, no more are we required to make daily sacralises or communicate with God through a “Priest”. By shedding his blood Jesus gave us direct access to the throne of God.

The Friday . .

And before the roster cried three times Peter had denied knowing Jesus.

Although Jesus Christ had committed no crime he was brought before Pilate. Pilate found no charges against Jesus and wanted to release him. But the crowd cried for him to be nailed to a cross. According to Jewish tradition it was customary for a prisoner to be released during the feast of Passover,  Pilate offered to release Jesus but they cried for Barabus to be released.

However again the crowd cried they shouted, “Crucify! Crucify!”

One Friday

One Friday

God was silent

The angels stood still,

As Jesus’ hands and feet were nailed to the cross.

One Friday

God was silent

The angels stood still,

As his only son was dying.

One Friday

God was silent

The angels stood still,

As Jesus, cried `my God, my God! Why have you forsaken me?

One Friday

God was silent

The angels stood still,

As Jesus’ head hung to the ground.

One Friday

God was silent

The angels stood still,

So we could have eternal life.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life"

John 3:16

Passion week - What I believe

On the night before Jesus died, they gathered to eat the Passover meal in accordance Jewish tradition. This tradition commemorated the first Passover meal. Which the Lord God commanded Moses to instruct the Israelites to eat and pour the blood of the sacrificial lamb on the door step. That night the Israelites were to cover doorsteps with the blood of the lamb. When the Lord saw the blood he passed over the house, but in the household of the Egyptians the male first born was slain by the Lord God.

It was during the feast that Jesus begun to speak about his death and reveal himself as the Passover lamb. The Passover Lamb was to be without blemish and no bones were to be broken in the preparation of the sacrificial lamb. In revealing himself and telling the disciples of his death. While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is my body." Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you., This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.” (Matthew 26:26 – 28). Jesus took the cup . . and the bread. One of the men at the table was about to betray him and another would deny knowing Jesus before the roster cried three times. All of this happened to fulfil scripture written centuries before Christ was born. These ancient writings were the scriptures the Jews read in the synagogues.

Jesus and his disciples later that night were praying in a garden. Judas had left the 12 to betray the Lord, he asked the other to ‘keep watch while he prayed’. But his friends fell asleep. Not once but three times. While he was pray the roman solders came to take him prisoner.

Please note I am not a bible scholar and some minor details

may be incorrect.

The Friday . . .

After Peter had denied him three times a hasty trial began as the Sabbath was approaching . . .

How I view easter

At the age of 33, Jesus was condemned to the death penalty.

At the time crucifixion was the "worst" death. Only the worst criminals were condemned to be crucified. Yet it was even more dreadful for Jesus, unlike other criminals condemned to death by crucifixion, Jesus was to be nailed to the cross by His hands and feet.

Each nail was 6 to 8 inches long.

The nails were driven into His wrist.

Not into His palms as is commonly portrayed.

There's a tendon in the wrist that extends to the shoulder.

The Roman guards knew that when the nails

were being hammered into the wrist,

that tendon would tear and break, forcing Jesus

to use His back muscles to support himself

so that He could breathe.

Both of His feet were nailed together.

Thus He was forced to support Himself on the single nail

that impaled His feet to the cross.

Jesus could not support himself with His legs

because of the pain, so He was forced to alternate

between arching His back then using his legs

just to continue to breathe.

Imagine the struggle, the pain, the suffering, the courage.

Jesus endured this reality for over 3 hours.

Yes, over 3 hours!

Can you imagine this kind of suffering?

A few minutes before He died,

Jesus stopped bleeding.

He was simply pouring water from his wounds.

From common images, we see wounds to His hands

and feet and even the spear wound to His side...

But do we realize His wounds were actually made in his body.

A hammer driving large nails through the wrist,

the feet overlapped and an even larger nail

hammered through the arches,

then a Roman guard piercing His side with a spear.

But before the nails and the spear,

Jesus was whipped and beaten.

The whipping was so severe that it tore the flesh from His body.

The beating so horrific that His face was torn

and his beard ripped from His face.

The crown of thorns cut deeply into His scalp.

Most men would not have survived this torture.

He had no more blood to bleed out,

only water poured from His wounds.

The human adult body contains about 3.5 litres

(just less than a gallon) of blood.

Jesus poured all 3.5 litres of his blood;

He had three nails hammered into His members;

a crown of thorns on His head and, beyond that,

a Roman soldier stabbed a spear into His chest.

All these without mentioning the humiliation

He passed after carrying His own cross for almost 2 kilometres,

while the crowd spat in his face and threw stones

(the cross was almost 30 kg of weight, only for its higher part,

where His hands were nailed).

Jesus had to endure this experience,

so that you can have free access to God.

So that your sins could be "washed" away.

All of them, with no exception!

Don't ignore this situation.

That's God!

Life Without Limbs :: by Nick Vujicic (Evangelist)
http://www.lifewithoutlimbs.org/

I just listened to Nick Vujicic who is one of my favourite motivational speakers - WOW! what timing!
Nick's favourite quote is always, "There is no use being whole on the outside if you're not whole on the inside"

I wasn't meant to be home this morning.  I had planned to go to the poet's breakfast. But decided it was too much on my body. I tried unsuccessfully to connect to 96.5 Family Radio and my stereo has not worked for months. When I couldn't connect via the Internet, (brain malfunction) I tried my stereo on the off chance it worked - it 'was' working! Well . . . just long enough for me to listen to Nick's interview! And then stopped. How powerful is that! Who said God isn't real!!! I believe I was meant to hear Nick's message today, although he used many of his favourite quotes and bible verses.

But today he shared about the humility involved in accepting help and carers into his life! All week I have been tiring to convince myself there are other people with disabilities that have the same struggles as me. At 42 and working from home it is difficult to accept my decline and weave my work around my support workers and home help, including needing someone to help me leave home. Nick runs an international ministry speaking around the world. He needs his workers to travel with him. Sure he has his ministry team with him. But at 26 he struggles with the same issues I do! I am not alone Nick and other PWD share the same issues and struggles too!

I also serve an awesome God! I challenge you to prove to me there is no God!!!!

You can download his sharing today at http://www.familylifeaustralia.com/  Heaven 4 Sure along with Nick's website are great places to read more about how you can know God more and connect with other Chirstians
